What is KTRL?
To stay fit through low-intensity exercise, I joined a Pilates class in 2023 and was immediately drawn to its transformative potential. Due to my 12 years of gymnastics experience, including 5 years at a competitive level, four years of coaching, and a lifelong involvement in sports such as football, tag rugby, netball, track and field, softball, basketball, triathlon, cricket, and karate —I was inspired to establish my own rehabilitative-based Pilates business in Bermuda. Thus, KTRL (formerly Figure888) Pilates was born.
Initially, our brand name was Figure888 Pilates, but since which, we have changed the name to KTRL. This better reflects the core ideology of Pilates; to regain control of the mind and body both in and out of the studio.
With a BSc in Exercise Health Sciences, a placement dissertation on Pilates in rehabilitative settings, mat and reformer Pilates certifications and work experience in both London and Birmingham, my approach goes beyond general Pilates expertise. This modality places a dedicated emphasis on the rehabilitation and optimisation of a diverse group of clients.
Pilates supports enhanced flexibility, core strength, and a deeper mind-body connection. Its holistic nature makes it a valuable tool for both injury prevention and recovery, while also contributing to improved mental clarity and nervous system regulation; necessary, but often overlooked. At KTRL, our mission is to promote strength, balance, and long-term wellness through an integrative approach to movement for athletes and teams, busy professionals, new parents, and those simply looking to reconnect with their bodies. Here, movement meets community, and everyone has the space to become their best self.
